IN 2025, CHRISTMAS CHEER IS SEEKING SPONSORS FOR MORE THAN 1,600 NEEDY CHILDREN AND 225 ELDERLY

In our community right now there are people who are not expecting Christmas to be very bright. They may have fallen on hard times. They may be ill, alone, or elderly.  They may be unemployed, unable to work, or unable to walk, and therefore unable to provide Christmas for their children.

Would you like to help keep hope alive in the heart of a child or an elderly person this holiday season? Call (336-229-9969) or email (info@christmascheerofalamance.org).

Clubs, churches, businesses, office groups, families, extended families, and individuals are invited to experience the joy of giving this Christmas. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

some of the children and elderly who need assistance this year:

CHILDREN

25-006-2         Working two jobs and living with her cousin to share expenses, this single mother is barely making ends meet.  Her sons are both on the autism spectrum, and her youngest also has generalized anxiety.  Things are hard right now, and she will be unable to give her sons Christmas gifts without help.  The boys both need winter clothing, and they have both requested bicycles.  Her 7-year-old also enjoys magnetic blocks and Legos.  Her 8-year-old would love a football or basketball and Pokémon cards.

25-004-1+E1              Caring for her 7-year-old granddaughter as well as her elderly mother, this grandmother is only able to work part-time.  Her expenses exceed her income, and she will be unable to provide Christmas for her family without help.  Her mother has diabetes, chronic kidney disease and high blood pressure.  Her granddaughter would like books, baby dolls, and art supplies.  Her mother would enjoy clothes (pants, shirt, pajamas), household items and toiletries.  A gift card to Food Lion would be helpful for this family.

25-009-1    This grandmother cares for her 13-year-old grandson who is on the autism spectrum.  She has difficulty finding work due to his need for assistance daily.  She would be grateful for help provide Christmas for him.  His special wishes are for clothes, a tablet, and sports equipment.

25-716-2   Unable to work due to severe migraines and mental health issues (anxiety and depression), this separated mother of two is living on food stamps, minimal child support and SSI.  Her car broke down and she couldn’t afford the repairs, so transportation is a major issue.  Her income barely pays her monthly bills, and she will be unable to provide Christmas for her two children without help.  Her children both need clothes for the winter.  Her 10-year-old daughter would also enjoy a Baby Alive doll, cowgirl boots, and art/drawing supplies.  Her 18-year-old son would enjoy head phones, blue bedding for his twin bed, and men’s toiletries.

25-708-2 This married couple is having financial difficulties living on dad’s meager wages.  Mom recently had leg surgery and needs another, and she is partially deaf.  Their 10-year old daughter has ADHD and their 12-year-old daughter struggles with anxiety.  They cannot afford Christmas for their girls, and would be most grateful for help!  The girls both need clothes for the winter.  The younger girl would also enjoy a Newborn baby doll with clothes, slime kits, and drawing supplies.  Her special wish is for a bicycle.  The older girl would enjoy a ‘Roxanne Wolf’ plush, a Five Nights of Freddy encyclopedia, and a pony beads jewelry making kit.

25-706-2 Having recently losing both of her parents and finding out she has skin cancer and irregular heartbeats, this single mother of two is struggling to find work working around all her medical appointments.  She also has severe asthma.  Her two children both have sickle cell anemia.  Barely surviving on food stamps and a small amount of child support, she is unable to provide any extras for her children, so she would be most appreciative for any help with clothing and Christmas gifts.  Her son (12) would enjoy a PS5 controller, Playstation or Roblox gift card, and a hoverboard.  Her daughter (17) would enjoy a full-size comforter set, whiteboard calendar to hang up to track her goals, and a Roblox gift card.

25-E1-505+C1  Raising her grandson on a limited income, this grandmother requires weekly shots for a blood disorder, and has renal failure.  Her grandson (15) has a learning disability and ADHD.  She would enjoy household items (sheets, towels), a jogging suit, and a gift card to Food Lion for cleaning supplies and food.  Her grandson does not read or write, but would enjoy body wash and deodorant, a pull-over sweater, jogging suit, and underwear.
